Jennifer Stettler Parsons, Ph.D., Curator, Florence Griswold Museum

Jennifer Stettler Parsons is Assistant Curator at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut. A specialist in American and modern art, she holds a Ph.D. in Art & Architectural History from the University of Virginia, where she completed a dissertation on the early work of John Sloan. During her doctoral candidacy she won the Archives of American Art Graduate Research Essay Prize for her scholarship on Arthur Dove. Parsons has held additional positions at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. At FGM Dr. Parsons curated the exhibition and accompanying book, Flora/Fauna: The Naturalist Impulse in American Art. Its sequel—Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art—is on view June 1—September 8, 2019.

All current members can either have ONE piece from the current Member's Show critiqued OR bring ONE piece to be critiqued.  The piece you bring does not have to be in the current Member's Exhibit.
When you arrive, take your painting off the wall, bring into Rose Room with you.  SIGN IN!!! Critique is first come first serve, you must be present to participate.  No advance sign-ups, please.  Refreshments will be served!  FREE.

Please come, take your work off the wall and SIGN IT OUT!  Member's Show work not picked up or have made prior arrangements will be stored in the closet.  $10 Fee to retrieve it by arrangement.  The custodians will not let you in to the closet.  That is not their job.  Call, text or e-mail Liz.
NOTE:  Work on display in the current Member's Show or Elected Member's Show are NOT ELIGIBLE to be hung in the Summer Juried Exhibition.

This hands on workshop will allow you to start creating a website using Google Sites.
You will learn to create multiple pages, changes backgrounds and styles, 
insert and format your photos, and link to other websites.
WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS:
Bring a laptop computer
Have artwork/photos saved as .jpgs, with good resolution accessible
Have a Gmail Google Account 
A working knowledge of Google Drive is helpful
This is a free workshop.  
Preferred registration for members of ALL local art societies by February 21.
Open registration to the public begins Monday, February 24.

All Clinton Art Society Members are eligible to enter ONE work.
Annual Dues must be current or paid at Receiving.
Painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, or sculpture.  No photography or giclee.
No larger than 40" in any direction.  Framed and wired to hang. No saw tooth hangers.
