Artists may bring any 2 works in any medium any size.
Any artist may bring work for critique.
Works do not have to be currently on display in the exhibit.
Works can be works in progress.
You may have works from the exhibit critiqued.
Please be gentle or ask for help when you take them down.
CAS assistants will rehang the pieces.
Refreshments will be served.

Accepted Works - CAS Summer Juried Exhibition



Thank you so much to all the artists who entered the Clinton Art Society 70th Annual Summer Juried Exhibition.  Thank you to our juror, Jenny Parsons, who had the difficult job of selecting the works in the show and then selecting the 23 cash prizes and the Exhibition Prize.  A special thank you to all of our volunteers for their diligence and hard work today, tomorrow, and throughout the show.  We can't do this without you!

Jennifer Stettler Parsons, Ph.D., Curator, Florence Griswold Museum

Jennifer Stettler Parsons is Assistant Curator at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut. A specialist in American and modern art, she holds a Ph.D. in Art & Architectural History from the University of Virginia, where she completed a dissertation on the early work of John Sloan. During her doctoral candidacy she won the Archives of American Art Graduate Research Essay Prize for her scholarship on Arthur Dove. Parsons has held additional positions at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. At FGM Dr. Parsons curated the exhibition and accompanying book, Flora/Fauna: The Naturalist Impulse in American Art. Its sequel—Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art—is on view June 1—September 8, 2019.
