CAS 2017 Member Dues and Exhibit Dates
Happy New Year! We are looking forward to an amazing 2017 for our Member Artists!!
According to the newly revised By-Laws (posted here on our CAS website), “To be considered for Elected Member status, an artist must have been accepted into 3 juried exhibitions within a 5 year period and is expected to serve as volunteers within the organization”. As a result, the status of those Associate members who have exhibited in 3 Summer Exhibitions in the past 5 years has been updated to Elected Member status upon payment of 2017 Dues.
We will continue to maintain our database and update it each year. Each year a member is accepted into the Summer Juried Exhibition it will be noted in the database. Once a member qualifies, an updated status notice will be sent in January with the invoice for payment of annual dues.
To simplify the process, ALL DUES WILL NOW BE $25, no matter what your level of membership. Your dues covers your membership from January 1 through December 31, 2017. Dues must be paid by April 3 in order to participate in the 2017 Member’s Exhibition. All members, Elected and Associate, whose dues are paid, may exhibit in the April 4 – May 2 2017 Member’s Exhibition in the Green Room at Town Hall. Dues-paying Elected Members may also participate in the Elected Members Only Exhibit May 3 – June 29 at the Henry Carter Hull Library.
We are pleased to announce that award-winning painter Mark Patnode has agreed to jury our 69th Annual Summer Juried Exhibition July 18 – August 13, 2017. I hope you will go to Mark’s website, www.marktheartist.com to learn more about him and see his work. This exhibit will be an open juried exhibition. All entrants regardless of membership status are subject to jurying. No dues will be collected at Receiving on Monday, July 17. Mark will also give an Art Critique during the run of the show.
Dues-paying members are also eligible to participate in a special curated exhibit September 5 through October 29 at the Kahn Gallery at Middlesex Hospital in Westbrook, CT. More information on that show will follow.
We will wrap up our “season” in early November with a special Free Demonstration T/B/D and our Annual Meeting and Potluck Supper. And of course, look for updates about our many local exhibits at Water’s Edge, Body Karma, Liberty Bank, The Annex, and others on our website, www.clintonartsociety.info.
