Paintings Find a New Home

Jo McGrath, Gazebo, oil, 43" x 57"
Jo McGrath, Sunset on Cape Cod, oil, 43" x 57"
At the end of last summer, Clinton Art Society was delighted to receive a call from long-time CAS member and Clinton resident, Jo McGrath, who, with her husband, was downsizing from her home and wanted to donate two paintings to CAS.  When I went to pick them up, I was surprised and overwhelmed by both their beauty and their size and was grateful I brought many blankets and an empty minivan to transport them.  Since then they have been stored in my home and I have been working with the Town of Clinton to find a permanent display for them in one of the town's public buildings.
I am thrilled to report that with the cooperation of First Selectman Bruce Farmer and our new Chief of Police Vince DeMaio that the paintings will be on permanent loan to the Town of Clinton and on permanent display in the Clinton Police Department Facility on Route 1.  Once the paintings are mounted, a plaque recognizing the donation by the artist and the loan by CAS will be placed beneath each painting.
Thank you Jo McGrath and best wishes in your new home!
