On Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12, during the times of the Clinton Congregational Church Fair, Clinton Art Society will have 4 Pop-UP Tents outside on the lawn in front of the Green Room at Town Hall for the first ever Art & Artisans Fair.  We are hoping that this presence  will attract a significant portion of the 1,000+ visitors that go annually to the Congregational Church Fair and park behind Town Hall.  By engaging these "passers-by", we hope to bring new audiences into our Summer Exhibition and hopefully generate exposure and sales for our artists.

Clinton Art Society Members may participate in several ways:
GIVE A DEMO - One of our tents will be designated for ongoing demonstrations by Clinton Art Society Artists.  These short demonstrations need not be elaborate and may include some type of audience participation or takeways.  A great way to educate the community about who you are as an artist.  Distribute your bio, business cards or studio information at the end of your demo.  Please contact Liz Egan at 860-669-4487 or e-mail her at  Demos will be on a scheduled program that will be marketed at the fair and in the newdpapers.
SELL COOL HANDCRAFTED ITEMS - In addition to their fine art, many artists make "cool stuff" - professionally packaged and labelled notecards, hand painted fabrics, knitwear, jewelry, jams, vinegars, soaps, etc.  Does that sound like you?  If it does, then contact Liz Egan.  We will have display areas under the tents and temporary displays inside the exhibit for you to display and sell your wares.  
SELL $30 PAINTINGS - During these two dates we will expand the number of $30 paintings we will have for sale, open it up to Associate Members, and have additional racks outside.  The same guidelines will be in effect.
VOLUNTEERS - We will need 6-8 volunteers each day to man the booths, and rotate around the displays answering questions and giving background information about Clinton Art Society.  We will keep shifts to no more than 2 hours, so you have time to browse the Church Fair as well. We will be having our normal volunteer "sitters", but we will will need additional volunteers to help make everything go smoothly.

This is a very exciting opportunity for us to get some extra attention to our Summer Exhibition and get many more visitors during a time when there is a lot of foot traffic.  Help us get this new project off the ground. Please let us know ASAP so that publicity and arrangements can be made.  Sign-ups will also be available at Receiving July 17, which will be the deadline to let us know if you would like to participate.
