CAS "Spring Florals" Art Reception
Jennifer Stettler Parsons is Assistant Curator at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut. A specialist in American and modern art, she holds a Ph.D. in Art & Architectural History from the University of Virginia, where she completed a dissertation on the early work of John Sloan. During her doctoral candidacy she won the Archives of American Art Graduate Research Essay Prize for her scholarship on Arthur Dove. Parsons has held additional positions at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. At FGM Dr. Parsons curated the exhibition and accompanying book, Flora/Fauna: The Naturalist Impulse in American Art. Its sequel—Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art—is on view June 1—September 8, 2019.
